This Romney ewe came out of the flock and charged at Rose today. Rose has lots of experience brawling with ewes protecting their lambs and belligerent rams. She stays back, circles and them walks forward until the ewes back up into the flock, which happened here. Rose has never gotten hurt, nor has she ever harmed a sheep. It is appropriate for border collies to nip sheep in the nose if they challenge them, but so far, Rose has used a Muhammed-Ali rope-a-dope approach, which works for her.
