I’ve resisted black and white photography, partly because there’s a snootiness about it and partly because I love color and light. But I see that black and white can capture light as well, even better sometimes, than digital color. There is emotion to it. I’ve taken a lot of photos of this gate in color, and it did little for me, but shooting this in black and white was quite different. Have to experiment more with that.
