Every morning, I get up at 5, make breakfast for Maria, feed the dogs, put Frieda out back in her special minimum security pen, and we eat breakfast and Maria goes to work. When she is not working as an artist, she works in an Adult Residential Community (ARC) helping developmentally disabled people in their group home.
When she leaves, I put Frieda on a leash, grab the camera, and go off on the path with the other three dogs. Mid-way, they all stop and turn and wait for Frieda and I to catch up with them. Rose stops the dogs and always waits at the same spot until I catch up. Izzy lies down in his famous crouch and Lenore sniffs around, but stays. When I get a few feet away, Rose turns and moves on ahead, and the other two follow.
