Teacup, Studio Barn, Sunrise

by Jon Katz

Have had a great book tour so far. Good crowds, great discussions, lots of books sold. Difference from previous years: bigger crowds, and they are buying more books, and I am signing more. The events are bigger, longer, and that is a good position for a writer to be in. The book is selling well.
Saturday, I am going to the Bookloft in Great Barrington, Mass., for a 1 p.m. talk and signing. Izzy is coming too. Then there will be a hiatus for a few days and I can work on my novel and children’s books before the tour picks up at Gardenworks on Saturday, September 5, 2 p.m, for “Art and Soul,” where I will read from “Soul Of A Dog” and talk about it and Ray and Christopher Smith, Mary Kellogg, Maria Heinrich and Corinna Aldrich will show their art, poetry, fiberworks and photography. I will be bringing some photos, including those that won ribbons at the Washington County Fair. For information, call 518 854-5250. In addition, Gardenworks, worth the trip in itself, will offer gourmet cheese, pies and muffins, fresh-pickable raspberries and blueberries and organic produce from nearby farms.
