Bob Anderson and I have some history. A few years ago, I bought his old vegetable stand and hauled it to the farm, where it stood proudly by the road until it blew over in a storm last year and we had to take it apart. Every year, when I go to the County Fair, I look for Bob’s food stand, which features every imaginable variety of things dipped in corn batter. Bob is usually out back holding court, but tonight he was handing the crowds in his bright red shirt and John Deere suspenders. He looked up and saw me, and smiled, and said “Jon Katz,” and I said “Bob, I’m going to take your picture” and his wife disappeared. Bob was game.
