August 25, 2009 – Running over to the fair this morning to get some shots. For me, the Fair evokes the pre-corporatist time when individuals – farmers, carny workers, diner owners – could have their own lives and businesses, a time before the Wal-Marting of the world swept America and made everything big, cold and increasingly soulless. At the County Fair, people have food stands, farm families sleep with their cows, and there is a riot of color, character and mood.
