Folk art: The Fun House, in the amusement area
For me, the Washington County Fair is an enchanted place, a melange of experiences, smells, colors and traditions. The 4-H kids sleeping with their cows, the carny workers running the rides, all sorts of fried, greasy and alluring food, volunteer firement from Argyle selling BBQ chicken to raise money, tractor pulls, a rich stew of agricultural tradition, honky-tonk and community all rolled up into one place.
I love to go there and take photos. If you get a chance come by. My photos will be on display in the Domestic Arts Building, along with a lot of fine pictures from other people. I will be hanging around.
