Izzy is an extraordinary dog. When we on book tour, he makes it easy on me. He greets everyone, then when I talk, he curls up and goes to sleep. He does not like other dogs much, and it is distracting when people bring them, but I’ve never seen a dog work a crowd like he does. He is partial to blondes. He loves to go under sofas, tables and chairs and peer out at the world. He is as strange as he is sweet, and he has woven himself throughout every part of my life. People are crazy about him, and all I have to do at a reading is stand there and mumble.
