August 20, 2009 – Interviews scheduled this afternoon, and then to Saratoga Springs this evening for the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society BBQ Fundraiser at 55 Union Avenue. Izzy’s coming, bandages and all.
Reporters want to do talk about spiritual and animals. Talk show hosts are insistent their dogs have souls, and are going to heaven. It’s a good time to be writing about animals and Americans who are, I think, quite needy and disconnected sometimes. There is a good feel to this book, though, easy to talk about, and people are dying to talk about the subject. Always a good sign. It will be a few weeks before I am out in the country touring, but this is a good way to ease into it. I have sent my novel off, and hope to obsess on the children’s books until I hit the road. I am thinking of heading to New Mexico for a few days in November.
Rose seems good to me. She loves to ride alongside the ATV, and we still are quite busy. She seems easier and more tuned into people and affection. She loves playing with Lenore and sitting by the garden. Izzy loves book tours.
Saturday I take my photos into the Washington County Fair. I’m psyched. September 3, HBO airs “A Dog Year” on its network. I’ve already seen the movie, so I think I’ll go out to dinner with Maria.
