When Frieda first came to the farm, she took off after Minnie, barked and growled at her. Yesterday, Frieda came out and she and Minnie touched noses and I had Frieda lie down while Minnie ate. Would not have thought this possible a while ago. Frieda slept in the farmhouse last night – in a crate – another first. This winter, she can be in the house, and not in one of the barns by a wood stove.
Training a dog is always a spiritual experience for me, a test and measure of patience, and of my capacity to grow. The calmer, clearer and more patient you are, the better they do.
