Rose, at the heart of “Soul Of A Dog.”

  Great reviews never get old, and “Soul Of A Dog” just got a lovely one, it’s first,  from Donna Seaman in Booklist. She called the book “zestful, moving,” and “irresistible and thoughtful.” That’s nice, and I appreciate it. “Soul Of A Dog” is coming out in August, and so far I’m going to Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Manchester, Vt., Albany, Washington, D.C., Ohio and Saratoga Springs. The book tour list will go up on my site shortly. Hope to see some of you on the road, and I’m pleased that the first review of this book was so appreciative.  “And though we must take responsibility for animals, Katz has no doubt that we need them more than they need us,” Seaman wrote.
 It’s nice to get praise, even nicer when the reviewer really gets the book.
 Every book I do is special to me, but this one is particularly meaningful. I worked longer and harder on it than any other book, and it did come from pretty deep in the heart, and from my own life, which, for better or worse, I am determined to live.
