June 22, 2009 – Afternoon chores have become a sweet time at the farm. Maria gives the donkeys cookies and brushes them – they adore her now. Rose sits up to keep the sheep at bay, as they want the cookies. The barn cats come out and wait for Maria to sit with them. I take photos, drift around, check the water, collect the daily egg,  and oversee.
  I am reminded of the importance of challenging fear, telling my stories, and living my life, not someone else’s version of my life.
