June 19, 2009 – Can’t imagine a better father’s day gift than to get my daughter Emma’s book cover (the book is out next Spring). It’s about her strange sojourn through the world of baseball, and if I do say so, it is beautifully written and touching.
What can I say? She’s a great writer – I can’ t imagine where she gets it – and that is surely an unbiased point of view. Emma spent the last few years going from New York to Taiwan to Milwaukee (and hanging out with the blood people, fans who donate blood to get free tickets) and obsessively blogging about the Yankees and other parts of baseball.
She is as talented as she is individualistic. She sure did it her way. We are planning a couple of joint readings next year, in Brooklyn, maybe and at Northshire Books in Manchester, Vt. If we get the dog people and the baseball lovers, we’ll have a mob.
I’m a proud daddy, and I love the cover.
