June 3, 2009 – There are four dogs at Bedlam Farm now. Frieda has begun walking off-leash with the other three and she has to be watched – she is very interested in squirrels and deer – but she is good with the dogs – she loves Lenore – and stays close now. She is calming, and seems eager to be part of the pack and happy to come along. She is becoming my writing dog. She loves to sit by my feet while I work, and I write well with her near me. As is typical of Rottweilers and Shepherds, she is hard to get to know, but fiercely loyal when you do.
