January 13, 2008 – Big cold wave hits tonight, and goes through next week. Looking for -20 by Thurs or Fri, plus winds and light snow. We are ready. Space in the barn for the donkeys, and the sheep will
huddle in the pole barn, which is protected from the wind. Hope to figure out how to capture this cold in photos, hard to do but a creative challenge.
  Have enough wood, stoves are going, extra layers of cold. Yesterday my autofocus froze on my Canon lens. I think it’s going to be a wild week. Doctors, shopping today. Lots of soup.
