January 10, 2008 – Bitter cold, friends coming to dinner. Lenore is a sick dog. Painful bout of Lyme Disease, and a nasty parasite, she is loaded with antiobiotics and other medications, but she is not herself. She is resting by the fire and on her dog bed. Jeff Meyer, a great friend and wonderful vet, says she will be fine. One benefit of getting a Lab to take medicine (unlike a border collie) is that she wolfs it down with peanut butter or bits of hot dog. Still, Lenore is walking stiffly and will be hurting for a bit. She’ll be herself, though, and urges you to smile on her behalf.
