December 21, 2008 – Storming, high winds, driving snow and ice, 6-12 expected today and another foot by Christmas Eve. A nasty bout of winter, much like my first her on the farm. Rose, as always, makes my life possible, at my side, watching my back. I got some nice photos this a.m., I think, but have to get out of the barn. Winston was lying on his side away from the heat lamp last night. He is close to the end, I think.
I let the donkeys out for the day but will get them back in tonight, with 45 mph winds and temps of -10. The sheep have the pole barn and five inches of wool. It is beautiful and desolate, and I hope to blog later today, satellite and weather permitting. Power and water holding up.
