December 15, 2008 – It is no fun to be on a farm when the power goes out, pretty though it sometimes is. The water goes out, to people and animals, and hay is hard to move around. The sheep were afraid to come down the hill, and Rose got them yesterday, and Annie walked them down today.
  People are pretty jovial about power, most have wood stoves or some kind of portable heaters. People are afraid to leave their houses in case pipes freeze, and you can’t leave the animals like that.
  The power is back here, but the damage to trees and lines is immense.
