December 13, 2008 – Izzy and I went to the Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vt. Saturday afternoon (it was packed) to sign Christmas books for people and we were happily surprised by the turnout. Holiday sales may be gloomy in many places, but not at Northshire and we have a great two hours talking to people who read this blog and my books. I am very gratified by the impact the photos are having as well as the new book. Izzy is a remarkable creature. At one point, I looked up and saw the iron stairs that lead to Northshire’s second floor, and I had this idea of photo of Izzy, as he always gets the point.
  All I have to say is “photoshoot” and he ran halfway up the stairs, turned and dropped into his vampy photo pose. Izzy gets it. This may be my favorite photo of him, and a good instinct to shoot it.
