December 10, 2008 – It is raining at Bedlam Farm, and ice storms are predicted for tonight and snow
for tomorrow. I went up into the pole barn with my camera to sit a bit with the sheep, who know how to wait out storms. They just stare at me, and are rarely with me without Rose. I think sheep are viscerally calm animals, if not pressured and their patience and endurance is ancient and comforting.
I like having sheep. They are little bother, and if they are not all that bright, nor do they need to be. I do not like feeding my animals treats and cookies, as it gets them excited around people, and aroused. I enjoyed sitting with them. I’m going to be holed up for a couple of days – possible the satellite will be down. Got plenty of wood on the porch.
