For me, life is about keeping faith. Robert kept faith with me. A dying artist, he e-mailed me every day for more than a year offering advice and insights into my photos. He never mentioned that he was dying and losing control of almost every part of his body. Only when he stopped e-mailing me did it occur to me that something was wrong, and I was able to track down a member of his family. I will meet him shortly on my book tour, and I will ask him why he kept such faith with me, a total stranger, even as he nears the end of his life. And I will keep faith. With him and with you, not by what I say but by what I do.
