I think the artist lives in many people, and is shut down, by life, fear, pain, experience, parents, siblings, some schools perhaps. We are told so often what to think, that we can no longer think, or listen to our own spirits, and we close up some of the most powerful parts of yourself. Watching these young step dancers at the Washington County Fair last week, I thought that the artist was allowed to live in these young women, and they could dance in the open so joyously and unselfconsciously. Good for them.
