Two months ago, Rose and Annie rescued Sophia, a goose, who was wandering alone in Argyle, N.Y., in a swamp after her mate was killed by a coyote. Rose and Annie corraled Sophia in a dramatic chase, and Sophia has been living with Annie and her husband Joe, comfortable if a bit lonely. Joe got Alberto Monday at the Washington Count Fair, and the two have been inseparable ever since. You cannot do better in life if you are an animal than to be with Annie and Joe. Note the summer house, and winter quarters are under construction. The two couples dine together regularly.
