August 11, 2008 – Danny Thomas Farms arrived, unaccounced of course, and brought 10 round bales of hay to be used to feed Elvis, Luna and Harold this winter. Hay deliveries are a sign of fall, and the farmers are struggling to deal with all of the rain, which makes cutting difficult, even impossible. Their lives are hard, and I am lucky to have this supply of good hay.
  The bovines clustered at the gate eagerly, and I yelled to Elvis, “you are lucky, you big monster. I ought to ship you to McDonald’s and make some real money, but now you are going to dine on fresh cut hay all winter while you sit on your big butt and stare out at the world.” He seemed unfazed by the outburst.
