June 23, 2008 – It is raining heavily, storming. Then, a pause. I grab a camera, and the tripod, and some plastic to cover both, and call the dogs, and grab my cell phone, and some extra lenses, and the camera bag, and go lumbering out into the woods, about a mile from the farmhouse. And I started out taking photos of raindrops, but got bored with that, and came across some wildflowers, and took photos of them, and got soaked, and took photos for a couple of hours, so long that Annie went out to the woods to make sure I was still alive, and found me crawling around the forest.
“What are you doing out here?” she asked. “Taking photos,” I said. Got to get writing, I said. Good idea, she said.
