May 31, 2008 – This year is almost half over, and it seems like it began yesterday. Time is short. Life is precious. I took the sheep out with Rose and Lenore this morning, and then brought the donkeys in from the cow pasture, because the sky is threatening and they might need the shelter of the Pole Barn, which they love. I put my foot through the floor of the ornate old metal heating vent in my bedroom. Foot is okay, grate is broken.Tough thing to get fixed.
Then did the morning chores and when I got to the bottom of the pasture, I looked up and saw this scene, which was, to me, quite remarkable. Lenore was visiting with the donkeys, Rose was watching her sheep, the sheep were still up the hill, and a chicken or two and a barn cat were wandering around.
Wow, I thought, how strange to look up at this, and this is my farm, these are my donkeys, my sheep, my dogs. This is my life. So I guess this is my life, and I mean to live it, every day and fully, to be fulfilled, to continue to send a signal to the world, though this blog, and my writing, and my pictures, that my life is important, and worth living, and that I will not waste it by living a life of fear or regret.
I wish the same for everyone.
