A deeply concerned Lenore hiding from the sheep. A biscuit brought out some
courage
May 7, 2008 – The Hound of Love desperately wanted to come with Rose and me when we took the sheep out tonight to graze, so I brought her. She eagerly followed Rose, sat down next to her and mimicked her every move. When Rose went out to bring the sheep closer and away from the far woods, Lenore stopped mimicking Rose and took off, hiding in the meadow grass 50 yards away.
It took me a few minutes to coax her out – her fear was instantly overcome by the appearance of a biscuit, which seemed to magically overcome her worries about the sheep, and she ran right up to them and sat next to me, actually, between my legs, while Rose brought the sheep back.
Rose was absolutely disgusted, refusing to even look at Lenore, who I consoled with many hugs, and treats and a few biscuits. A couple more times, and she will get it.
Okay, she is no herding dog. But she is the Light.
Initially, Lenore sat with Rose and was brave, until the sheep came her way.
