Mary Kellogg conquers Berlin

by Jon Katz

Part of the overflow crowd at the Berlin Library. They were stacked all over the place.

April 22, 2008 – Mary Kellogg had a great night at the spanking new Berlin Public Library in Berlin, N.Y. She read from her new book of poetry, “My Place On Earth”before a standing room only crowd, with dog love provided by Izzy and Lenore. Afterwards, Mary took questions and we raffled off books photos. Some loyal bloggers drove as long as six hours to hear Mary and meet the dogs.
“My Place On Earth” is being published by Bedlam Farm Books in May and will be available at bookstores and online at thetroybookmakers.com. I wasn’t sure what to expect on a weekday for a poetry reading in a small town but the turnout was gratifying, and thanks. Mary deserves it. We will be doing other readings in connection with the book in Cambridge, Glens Falls, and Saratoga., N.Y.
Izzy was his usual smooth self, and Lenore had a blast, scarfing food up off of the floor and dispending dog love. I was anxious when some very young kids stomped her, but the gave them kisses. Lab love.
It was a great night, an an affirmation of a great spirit and talent.

Mary reading from “My Place On Earth,” the first Bedlam Farm Book. We are proud
and excited. Thanks again for the great turnout.
