February 11, 2008 – It was bitter cold and windy today, under a photographer’s light, a bright blue winter sky, and Izzy and I set out to catch the sunset, one of my favorite things in the world to do. The farmers know me now, and laugh at me as I screech to the side of the road, hop out, grab a camera, drop something, dodge traffic and set up. “Got it?,” they yell. I suspect they understand better than anybody being outside in the cold, whether you like it or not. It is not a simple thing to move my fingers to adjust the settings in this cold. Well worth it, though. The light was amazing, and for once, I brought the right lens. Did not need a tripod.
We stopped and started a score of times, and it was awfully cold on those flats, and I thought I would get blown away. I got a lot of pictures I liked, but picked five which I’ll put up this evening, along with another Hospice Journal.
