You are invited to Saratoga Saturday, November 17, from 1 to 5 p.m., to see a show featuring my photos and the concrete artistry of Anthony Armstrong at All the Right Angles, 526 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., 12866 (518 587 – 4320). Stephanie Arpey, owner of All the Right Angles, is also my framer, and she has done an amazing job of dressing up my pictures. She can also be e-mailed at [email protected]
This is the third show for Anthony, who recently sold one of his concrete sculptures and shipped it to California. His work was shown at Gardenworks at the Art Harvest in October and will be shown this weekend at the Georgi Museum in Shushan, along with my pictures, poems from Mary Kellogg and fiber art from Maria Heinrich. In Saratoga, Anthony will be showing off the art of concrete, as it applies to countertops, vanities and decorative art pieces. He and his associate Cail Johnstone of Armstrong Stone will explain their hip, hot and highly function work, all the rage in California and spreading East. Anthony has done a number of countertops in Saratoga.
I will be bringing some dogs, showing my pictures, including ones like the one above taken at the Washington County Fair, my farm and farms and people in Washington County. This is also my third photo show, my first in Saratoga Springs.
Anthony and I will each talk about our work at 2 p.m, and then be available for informal discussions throughout the afternoon. There might be food.
Stephanie has a classy art and framing shop on Route 9, just outside of Saratoga and right near the Wilton Mall and Route 87, the New York State Thruway. Pictures will be sold, some proceeds going to hospice.
