October 24, 2007 – Cooler, but a plague of ticks continues. Pulling them off the dogs all day. Rose is recovering, still has staples in her legs, Lenore had a good time sleeping over at Annie’s, Izzy is hanging close. Had a great time seeing Paula in NJ and seeing “Into the Wild,” a great movie, I thought, and beautifully shot. Anthony and I had an amazing visit with Dr. Edward Hallowell, the ADD expert and author in Manhattan. It was strange seeing NYC. I’ve lost a bit of my edge, and had to struggle to adjust to the noise and frenzy. I used to go there to work every day, but never felt, in my mind, that I really got New York or broke into it. Eager to get back to writing my next book and taking pictures. The trip was good for me. I feel less drained. I realize I have to worker harder not to be drained, to be spiritual. I will. Might to camping this weekend. I have come to love camping, although it is a huge pain in the butt to haul all that stuff into the woods. I know, I know. Less stuff, sort of the point.
