October 22, 2007 – I have another writing dog. Lenore discovered the dog bed next to my computer and has claimed it. When I start writing, she plops down and makes herself comfortable – this dog is not into stress. Labs make great writing dogs, unlike border collies who are, er, more outwardly directly. Writing suits the contemplative, spiritual nature of the Lab. Lenore was out like a like and made it through the prologue. Meanwhile, Rose returned from the hospital with staples in her leg and many medications. I was scolded by the vet staff for not getting her enough rest. No sheepherding or four-wheeler rides for two weeks. Hope the animals behave.
