October 16, 2007 – Cloudy, cool. Every morning, the cows and I have a morning nutrition meeting, that is, they wait to be fed and Annie or I feed them. Going to work on a chapter list this morning, and then have a meeting. Lenore has entered a new phase of her puppyhood, more alert, responsive, even more playful and chewy. We are training consistently throughout the day, and she is beginning to come reliably. She is all Lab, friendly, goofy, curious and intrusive. Also eating disgusting things. She goes to see Jeff Meyers the vet today in Granville, N.Y. I am anxious for her to see him and vice versa. Jeff and I are overdue for one of our dinners where we catch up on life and talk dogs. I have never met a better vet or gone to a friendlier, more responsive clinic. Paula has been an amazing help this week, working with me on a chapter list, getting the farmhouse organized, helping me settle down for the book. I appreciate her very much.
