Fiber Dress for Art Harvest

by Jon Katz

September 17, 2007 – Put up posters for Art Harvest, took Paula to see Anthony’s new sculpture, went with Paula to James Patterson’s (he built  my farmhouse) gravesite in Argyle, reached agreement with Random House on my next book, so I can start work soon (yay!), went and took another of Maria’s dress, “Yes! No!” to be shown at the Art Harvest “Four Friends Share Their Art,” to be held at Gardenworks, October 13-15 in Salem, N.Y., (518 854-3250). Maria will show her fiber art “Thread to Thread,” Anthony Armstrong will show his new concrete sculptures “My Life in Concrete,” and Mary Kellogg will read and display some of her amazing new poems – “Musings in the Berry Patch,” and I will show my photographs,”Pictures from Bedlam.” Pictures, poems and artworks sold will go to benefit Friends of Hospice. Anthony and Armstrong Stone will also give away some beautiful inlaid concrete trivets and Gardenworks will sell its splendid cheese, produce, pasta, and crafts (pumpkins, cider and cider donuts also). Some of my dogs will be on hand both days and there will be talks beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. I will talk about my pictures, the farm, and introduce the other artists. Mary will talk about her poetry and read and Anthony will talk about his art.
Below, Maria’s dress, in residence in one of my barns.
