September 12, 2007 – John Yost is a friend, photographer (my photo instructor, in fact), artist and filmmaker. His new movie, “Every Good Thing to Rust” is live on his website, http://www.everygoodthingtorust.com Check it out. It’s a broody post-911 Apocalyptic buddy movie. It is haunting, provocative, and beautifully shot. John’s imagination is one of the great recent blessings in my life, and I value him and his work very much. He is actually also showing me how to use my camera, a small miracle. I’m off automatic now, perhaps for good.
John’s wife Raeanne designed this website and is designing a new photo website for me, on that will link to this one but allow me to put up my pictures and not overwhelm bedlamfarm.com, which I’ve done.
Otherwise, a cool, cloudy day in bedlam. Danny Thomas called to say he will soon bring another truckload of second cut hay for the sheep and donkeys. The cows have their round bales, and are happy. Don Cavna is building coil-water system for the cows for the winter, which will save Annie and I the rich experience of hauling freezing hoses around. I met with Anthony, Mary Kellogg and Maria Heinrich about Art Harvest. I am going out this afternoon to herd sheep and take pictures. Nasty bronchitis lingers.
