September 7, 2007 – Dry, warm. The lack of rain has become a problem for the farmers harvesting corn and hay, and for me, already putting out hay because the pastures are burnt out. Had a great talk with my good friend Audrey who just got a border collie named Maya, who is 10, from a shelter. Audrey has been wanting a dog for years and this is a lucky dog, believe me. Very happy to hear the joy in her voice, and in her husband’s. Good luck to both of you, and I have the sense this is one of those lifetime things.
Heading to Cape Cod for a few days to visit with Paula and Emma. Annie and co. are tending to the farm, thankfully. Below is a series of posts about Art Harvest, Four Friends Share Their Art, to be held at Gardenworks(518 854 3250) October 13-14. This is the wood mold for Anthony Armstrong’s concrete sculpture, “Family,” and he is working hard on that now. Further down, pictures of Mary Kellogg at work and of Maria’s Fiber Chair being introduced to the sheep.
