August 30, 2007 — Showers, cooler. Went to Saratoga today to plan for matting and framing pictures for Art Harvest, Four Friends Share Their Art, scheduled for Gardenworks in Salem, N.Y., (518 854 3250), Saturday and Sunday October 13-14. It was a bit unsettling to see my pictures being discussed for showing. The two day art show will feature all sorts of food and produce from Gardenworks and the works of four artists, called “Leap of Faith,” because for some of us, it is. The artists are Maria Heinrich showing her fiber art (see below) “Thread to Thread”, Mary Kellogg reading her poetry, “Musings from the Berry Patch,” Anthony Armstrong showing his concrete sculptures, “My Life in Concrete”, and me showing some my photographs, “Pictures from Bedlam.” The sculptures, poems and pictures are for sale, to benefit Friends of Hospice. Come if you can. I’ll be there with a dog or two, and I will be taking pictures of the artists as they prepare their works for the show. Earlier this week, I put up a picture of Anthony working on his sculpture, and today, Maria. I will track Mary Kellogg down later this week and hopefully catch her in the act of writing some of her beautiful poetry. I had my first digital photography lesson with filmmaker John Yost who is an amazing teacher. I can’t believe what I learned, including how to use my camera. He is awesome.
Below, two pictures of fiberwork by Maria she calls “Yes.No.”, to be shown at the Art Harvest.
Yes. No.
