We got up at 5 a.m. this morning to prepare our pre-dawn chicken raid at Bedlam Farm, heading over in the dark to snatch Strut and the two hens off of their roost. We’ll put them in a dog crate, bring them back to the new farm and put them in their snazzy new chicken coop, a remarkable thing. They should all be dopey and unawares on the roost. Then Maria will paint the ceiling in her new studio and make some potholders, something she really needs to do to feel grounded again. Then all of the people and animals of Bedlam Farm will be in their new home.
