These two working women are becoming inseparable. I sometimes wonder what they might talk about if they could talk in human language. I suspect they would compare the notes of working dogs. The vigilance and professionalism which Frieda brings to guarding the farm, the focus, courage and intelligence Rose brings to herding sheep and her other working tasks. These two do not relax, do  not cut corners, are not bribeable or distracteable when they work. And as loving as they can be, they are always working, which is, perhaps, why they enjoy hanging out with each other.
