Got my author’s copy of ‘”Going Home: Finding Peace When Pets Die” today. This does not get old, even for the 2oth time. The book goes on sale September 27, less than four weeks away. Can’t wait to hit the book tour. I sat down and read through it – it has more than a dozen of my photos inside, and I was very happy to have written it.

I think it will be a big book and will be helpful. I am grateful to my agent and editors and the Random House marketing department for all the very great work that has been done on it. The “Going Home” video will be shown first on my website, right here and on Facebook at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 8, and I thank you for the wonderful images of your loved and lost pets that have made this video so touching.

It is very humbling, very touching for me to see the book, hot off the presses and in my hands. Maria has been so supportive of me and my work, that I just don’t have words for that. Lucky, lucky. I have wanted to be  writer since I was eight, and it still feels like a dream come true. Every creative act for me is an act of defiance, as well as love. A choice for life.
