We love Ken Norman’s visits to the farm. He brings his dog, wife, daughter, great skill and affection, the best stories. It’s a family affair, genuine and very real. Simon is making progress, but he bucked and kicked this time, evidence, Ken says, that he’s feeling better. Nikolene is a magical kid, and she is being given the opportunity to know and love animals in a way few children get to experience. Ken has been coming to the farm for years now, and their family seems part of my family.
I love this video, it is a window into a way of life that is vanishing in much of our country, but which still lives here. And there is a beautiful sequence of Maria and Nikolene naming the sheep out of the barn window. I think this may be the favorite of the videos I have taken.
Come and see.
