
Of all the animals on the farm, I think the donkeys struggle least with the heat, and the sheep the most, for obvious reasons. They have a heavy coat. It hit 100 on the farm thermometer, and the barn cats were nearly comatose, the dogs panting, sleeping, the sheep holed up under shade and some of them were panting. All you can do is provide shade and shelter and lots of fresh water. Sheep are desert animals, and they can endure, as long as they have water. But it is rare to see them panting like this ewe.
