Simon got here this afternoon. He has a sore on his back from a scrape.McKenzie led him into the pasture, and he is eating grass and hay and settling in. He is a bit of shock, both for Maria and for me. He is pitiful, emaciated and struggling to walk. In a lot of pain I think. We have painkiller to give him. He needs rest, grain, protection from sun, flies and strain. Lenore came in with him and the two got comfortable with one another. Maria and I are both spending some time with him. He’s very easygoing. He loves oat cookies, grass, his vitamin bar.

It was upsetting to see him. My Imovie isn’t functioning properly, so I’m not sure if I can put up videos of him for awhile. I’ll try.
