Some bright and committed and creative people had lunch in Glens Falls, N.Y., earlier this week to plan the new Gallery 99, operating for several days in February out of borrowed space (above) in the beautifully renovated Empire Theater Building. They debated aft versus craft, cost versus quality and committed to a creative, eclectic and exciting new way to show and sell art to people who want it but can’t afford conventional gallery notions of art and pricing. The space is beautiful, right across from the Glens Falls National Bank (my bank!). I’ll be talking at the show and showing photos and notecards.
Artists from Washington and Warren Counties will be showing their work as well, and Maria will be offering quilts and potholders. It’s an exciting new idea. We’ll keep everybody posted.
