The women at the Tri-County Holstein Club talked about their kids, and passed photos along. They laughed a lot, and said they were exercising “bragging rights” over their kids and grandkids. Theirs is a way of life, and they know it is fading. One told me of a neighbor who had fifteen children. Michelle said she had five in a small house up the road from the farmhouse they live in now. Seven people, three bedrooms, lots of cousins and relatives visiting. “We made do,” she said.
