Rose and Izzy love the corner of the garden, where they can watch the road, guard against intruders, keep an eye on me, chase a truck here and there. Rose is a profoundly vigilant creature, and she was a great inspiration to me as I wrote “Rose In A Storm.” I think it’s a book I’ve been waiting to write for a long time, and I am very happy to returning to fiction. On October 5, Rose and I will make an unofficial visit to the Saratoga Barnes&Noble at 5 p.m. to sign some books. This is not an official event, but it will be her first signing, and it will be interesting to see how she handles it. Maybe she will move some people around the store. She does not like crowds of people much, but I think it is something she is entitled to. And as I told her the other day, if Frieda can go to a reading, she sure can.
