Monday is the first day of the Washington County, N.Y., Fair, a celebration of agriculture, the family farm, animals, carny culture, junk food, local crafts. It is a photographic feast. I’m not entering the photo contest this year, but will be hanging around the fair and the farm families who still are the soul of this elegiac festival.
I took some of my first good photos there and I dearly love hanging around there with a camera. I’m hoping to get to the Rouse farm to catch them loading their animals – 20 cows – onto trailers for the fair. Monday is the demolition derby and tractor pull.
