Mother/son barn. Weeping, perhaps

by Jon Katz
Lost America

I found this old Mother/son barn abandoned near a pasture in Shushan, and nobody was home, so I trekked out to take a photo of it. I loved the way the late afternoon sun hit the sides of these barns. I am liking the use of black and white to capture barns (a/la Wyeth) but you have to catch the red sometimes. It’s so much a part of barns. The big one almost seems to be weeping, projection, of course, of abandonment.
