Intentions

I am learning about intentions. Asking myself what my intentions are for the day, for the week, for my life.

This week, my intentions are to be peaceful. To be spiritual. To be creative. To appreciate time with Maria. My farm. My dogs.

To be creative. To take interesting photographs. To connect with the person I am, not the one I thought I was. To be loving, and be loved. To accept myself, and live in the moment. For now. For now, life is good. I have so much work to do. I am so excited about it. I am so excited to feel so much love in my life, when I had all but given up on the idea of it.

This week, Maria and I will co-host, along with Christine Nemec of the Redux Gallery in Dorset, Vt., a celebration of sorts. We are celebration the meaning of art, light and images, especially in a difficult time. The importance of art. The need of artists to connect with people. Love, marriage. Christine is a wonderful human, brave, classy, a warrior for art. A good friend. We both are very lucky to have her in our lives. Christine has helped me believe in my photography and work harder at it. Like me, she is a pilgrim and a refugee from another world, and has created a meaningful life for herself.

We are celebrating our art. Maria’s new website. My photography. The symbolism of potholders and notecards, ways in which both of us have turned to get our work out into the world when so many people can’t afford it. The idea of art is changing, like so many other things. I want to see where it goes, change with it. The Creative Union Art Show is Saturday, July 24, 1 to 4 p.m. Redux Gallery, Dorset, Vt. Nothing is more than $15. Dorset is a great place to visit. Good food at Mio’s, the Dorset Inn, and in Manchester. Good shopping, outlets. The famed Northshire Bookstore. Green Mountain Park. I’ll be giving two talks, and signing anything anyone wants signed. Izzy will be joining in. I’m bringing my new Ipad.

P.S. Maria is raffling off one of her quilts to benefit the family who lost six children in a fire in Ft. Edward last week. $5 a ticket. Potholders, notecards can be purchased online at Redux now or on the phone 1 802- 867-4211.
