These donkeys do all right. They are brushed every day, fed carrots, some corn, grass and hay and of course their special oat cookies. The farrier Ken Norman said they looked wonderful. I was proud of that. It’s pouring here, and the farmers are happy. We need it. Someone I’m close to called up and said they were in a panic. I said it’s just a feeling. I said it won’t kill you. I said panic sometimes gets us moving, dealing with things. I said the people we love and live with ought to know. If they can’t deal with it, best to know now. I said it can be beaten. It isn’t real. It’s just a space to cross. And that is the truth. I hope that got through.
